Greetings from OGS,
We are writing today to share important updates from the US government, and
reminders about the ongoing risks of international travel.
Restriction on Travel into the US from India
On April 30 the Biden administration announced a travel restriction for noncitizens of the United States who were physically present within the Republic of India during the 14‑day period preceding their entry or attempted entry into the United States. This proclamation went into effect at 12:01 AM ET on May 4, 2021. Certain scholars may be eligible for a National Interest Exception; scholars may contact the nearest US Embassy to inquire whether an exception will be possible in their case. Please contact OGS Scholar Services (ogs.scholars@nyu.edu) for additional information, as applicable.

Travel Information
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to pose unprecedented risks to travelers. In light of those risks, the Office of Scholar Services strongly recommends scholars reconsider international travel. Scholars who decide to travel outside of the United States should carry the proper documentation for re-entry. Specific guidance on international travel according to immigration status/visa type can be found on the Travel Information page. Please continue to review our website for travel advisories pertaining to coronavirus, and for more information regarding the presidential proclamations.
