Have a good week!

Happy Black History Month!
The first official Black History Month began in 1976 after years of celebrating for just one week. February is an annual celebration of recognizing accomplishments done by Black Americans and how crucial their role is in US history. Join GW in celebrating Black History Month by attending various events put on by several student organizations. This year's theme is "Black to the Future", check out gwubhc's Instagram to learn more about the amazing opportunities and events you can attend and learn from. See you there!!
Access to Emergency Contraception
Senior Aiza Saeed and Sophmore Neharika Rao led the successful initiative to ensure that students have easier access to Plan B by installing a wellness vending machine in the basement of the University Student Center. As of now, the machine has tampons, Advil, and Plan B. This initiative has made emergency contraception more accessible for students and is a positive step towards addressing the health and reproductive rights across the student body. If you would like to learn more about the initiative read this article from the Washington Post!
Community Engagement
Senior Kate Carpenter and her team put on GW Palooza this weekend for the second time ever. GW Palooze looked to build school pride and morale with new events such as the GW Crown, the banner-making competition, and tailgates. It included the entire student body, we can't wait to see what it is like next year!
