CRIDC Awards $40,000 to Poster Competition Winners

This year, $40,000 in research travel grants were awarded to 20 exceptional scholars who presented their research in the 16th annual Career, Research, Innovation, and Development Conference (CRIDC) poster competition, which took place on Feb. 6 and brought together a diverse community of scholars from research disciplines from four of the seven colleges.

Registration for Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition EXTENDED: ENDS TODAY
|
THERE’S STILL TIME TO REGISTER! The 2025 3MT will be held on Friday, April 4 at 5:30 p.m. in the Atlantic Theater. Registration has been extended until February 19, at 5:00 pm. 3MT challenges students to explain their research in three minutes in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. Currently enrolled master's and doctoral students who are actively engaged in original research are eligible to participate. For more information and to register, click the link below.

Funding Opportunities: PIN Fellowship: Deadline February 28
|
This program is intended for recent graduates (those who have received a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree within five years) from any institution and have less than five years of work experience. Selected Fellows must fully commit to this Fellowship and cannot accept additional employment while in the program .In this one-year rotational program, Fellows engage with two organizations (one public, one private) within one of the project areas. Each placement will last for 6 months. Fellows will be placed within one of the following projects that aligns best with their existing expertise, degree and career goals

The purpose of the NSF Smart and Connected Communities (S&CC) program solicitation is to accelerate the creation of novel intelligent technologies and concepts through high-risk/high-reward research that addresses major challenges and issues faced by communities across the US. A “smart and connected community” is defined as a community that synergistically integrates intelligent technologies with the natural and built environments and with the functions of civic institutions and organizations. Preliminary Proposals are due by Feb 20, 2025.

| Attend the Indian Consulate Connect
|
This Friday, February 21, the Indian Consulate of Atlanta is hosting an interactive session with the Indian student diaspora of Atlanta. The Consul General will present passport services, necessary forms to fill out, safety and security and distress calls, among other topics. An interactive Q&A session with the audience will follow the presentation. In the end, another presentation will take place on pertinent information such as Taxes, Insurance, SSN and other related topics of relevance. This will take place in the Bill Moore Student Success Center from 4:00 - 5:00 pm. RSVP required.

|
Georgia Tech’s Office of Graduate Education is seeking motivated graduate students to work as Group Leaders and Community Engagement Leaders for the Office of Graduate Education’s GT6000 program from June 2025 through October 2025. This is an outstanding opportunity for any graduate student looking to diversify their resume and add leadership experience.
GT6000 is offered as a one-credit hour, pass-fail course that runs during the first eight weeks of the fall semester. Groups will meet once per week August 18 – October 10 for the fall 2025 offering of GT6000. Applications close on Friday, March 14, 2025. Join us for our weekly Group Mindfulness meditation, Today, at 5:30 pm in Swann Building room 115! Our sessions are beginner-friendly and typically last 10-30 minutes. Dr. Verhaeghen is a certified mindfulness instructor who teaches the Science of Mindfulness course (PSYC 3005) here at Georgia Tech.
