Happy Birthday, Buckeye!
Buckeye, our reading dog, is a trained therapy Goldendoodle and beloved member of our Lower School. At school every day, Buckeye inspires our students to read, instinctively knows when someone needs cheering up, and puts big smiles on the faces of all he meets.
As emerging readers, our first graders participate in a “Read to Buckeye” program. This program has been successful in building confidence in young readers and increasing motivation to read independently.
Today we wish everyone's favorite furry friend a big HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY!

Extended Day is open on half days from noon dismissal to 6 p.m. In order to attend for the September 22 half-day, please use our drop-in form and select HALF DAY to request a spot. Half Days and Conference Days are no longer included in Extended Day contracts. Please register with at least 48-hour notice. Thank you!

Middle School Author Visit/Book Opportunity
We’re excited to announce that New York Times bestselling author, Soman Chainani, will be visiting St. Michael’s Middle School VIRTUALLY on Monday, September 27th at 1 p.m. Soman is the author of the School for Good and Evil series, a fairytale saga that has sold over 2.5 million copies, been translated into 29 languages across six continents, and will soon be a major motion picture from Netflix, which Soman will executive produce.
Soman will be speaking to the entire Middle School with a presentation on his newly released novel, Beasts and Beauty (out 9/21). bbgb, our local bookshop, is facilitating his visit and is offering the opportunity to purchase a book signed by Soman via bbgb's website at https://www.bbgbbooks.com/st-michaels.

| COVID Reporting Protocol/Form
If someone in your family has symptoms, has been exposed, or is being tested for COVID-19, please inform the School IMMEDIATELY IN WRITING via the COVID-19 Reporting Form linked below. The link is also on the School website.
Upon receipt of this information, Nurse Maben, St M's school nurse, will contact the family. The confidentiality of the diagnosed student or teacher will be maintained. Please keep your child(ren) AT HOME until contacted by Nurse Maben.
