One fascinating thing about glass is the way objects of exquisite delicacy and grace emerge from a hotshop world of concrete, steel, iron and fire. We never tire of this magical transformation. Even after 50 years Josh is still enthralled! He recently created a collection of graceful New Mexico, Corona, and Inhabited perfume bottles!

For Deep Sea Pendants, Josh selects miniature scenes from large New Mexico discs (not this exact one, but you get the picture). Jewelry-maker Pam Farren, instructor at the Worcester Center for Crafts, then sets each piece in a custom-made sterling silver bezel.

Simpson Planets are the hot furnace exception to this group exhibition at the Kobe Lampwork Glass Museum in Kobe, Japan. This is the only museum in the world that exhibits glassworks, including “Tombodama” beads, created by a technique known as lampwork. The exhibition presents the charm and potential of lampwork as an art form.
