Thank You for a Great GAgives Day!

Thanks to the generosity of our caring community, GAgives on Giving Tuesday was a success with almost $2,200 raised! You provided much-needed support for Seeds for Seniors, the Horticultural Therapy program that brings the joy and therapeutic benefits of gardening to our residents. These funds will provide supplies and services for program participants. Thank you for helping us provide the gift of nature to our homes!

A.G. Rhodes Resident and Former Delta Flight Attendant Gets Special Surprise

Marilyn Washington is a resident at A.G. Rhodes Atlanta and was recently surprised with a visit from TaleGate, a storytelling group that's traveling across the country to collect and share unique stories from older adults. In addition to Ms. Washington's close family and friends, and the residents and staff at A.G. Rhodes, a Delta flight attendant also attended to thank Ms. Washington for her previous service as a flight attendant. Watch the touching video.

An Artful Partnership

A.G. Rhodes residents had the opportunity to learn about artmaking and explore their artistic talents thanks to a months-long pilot partnership with the High Museum of Art.

Through the unique partnership, residents toured the High Museum, participated in art workshops led by museum instructors that came to A.G. Rhodes, and held art shows at each A.G. Rhodes community to feature favorite pieces they created.

Employee Spotlight: Olivia Blackburn, RN

“To whom much is given, much is required.”

Olivia Blackburn, the newly promoted Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) at A.G. Rhodes Wesley Woods, quoted this Bible scripture from Luke 12:48 as a guiding principle in her life. Olivia says that even in the most challenging times, she knows she can handle it because her focus is on the residents and employees she serves.

“I love to help and reach as many individuals as I can, whether it’s a resident or employee,” she said. “The care must be provided, and the job has to be done. I feel I have the skills to get it done.”

'Tis the Season!

Come visit our A.G. Rhodes tree at the Festival of Trees in Town Center Mall at Cobb. A fun time was had by all as elders and Care Partners worked together to decorate our tree. What better way to get into the holiday spirit?!

The display will be up through 12/26 and is in the atrium outside Belk in the mall.

A.G. Rhodes Cares

A.G. Rhodes Support Team members volunteered at the Salvation Army and brought some holiday cheer to their families and senior residents. A.G. Rhodes has formed a special partnership with the downtown shelter over the years, volunteering at each other's locations, and we were honored to serve.
