Happy Saga Dawa!
Beginning Friday, May 29, Ven. Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche will continue leading our healing retreat as well as his rich commentary of Heart Advice to the Fortunate Ones.
Saga Dawa is the auspicious fourth month of the Tibetan lunar calendar. Throughout his life Buddha Shakyamuni fulfilled many of his major activities during this month. Standing high among them are his birth in this world, his enlightenment, and his mahaparinirvana. It is during this month that, after three countless aeons accummuating merit and wisdom, he achieved the ultimate benefit of himself and others: buddhahood- complete and full enlightenment.
This is a very powerful and auspicious time for practice and meritorious activities. It is said that the karmic power of our activities multiply millions and trillions of times during this month.
Therefore, this is a perfect time for reconnecting and refreshing our practice. With the sincere wish to truly benefit all sentient beings we should embrace this awesome opportunity. As the saying goes: "Make hay while the sun shines!"
We hope that along with deepening your personal practice, you can join us as Rinpoche continues to lead our healing retreat on weekends throughout June. Many extra extra special days will be observed as noted below.
While our physical centers are remaining closed for the time-being, we are happy to announce that the Yeshe Tsogyal Temple (pbc-tn.org) in Tennessee and the Palm Beach Dharma Center (pbdc.net) in Florida will soon begin holding their weekly Heart Sutra practice via Zoom. Please see their websites for more information.

From the introduction by Ven. Khenchen Palden Sherab Rinpoche:
"I bow to Prajnaparamita, the Wisdom Gone Beyond!
These days, throughout the world and especially in this powerful nation of America, it is common to see developments in the fields of science that are increasing our general understanding of how matter exists and functions from an external point of view. The scientists doing this research deserve continuous praise for their analyses of various aspects of reality; regardless of whether or not they believe in the Buddha, their work has confirmed many aspects of his teaching. However, science alone has not shown that it is capable of dispelling suffering or producing blissful experiences in any ultimate way.
To achieve ultimate results, we need to look inward to the vast and exceedingly profound mind itself, and discover its mode of being. Since this is not easily done—in fact, it is extremely difficult—one generally needs to find and follow a flawless path. The Prajnaparamita is just such a path. By steadily relying on its perfect view, it is possible to dispel all suffering and produce untold benefit and happiness for both self and others, as did countless scholar-practitioners who appeared and were witnessed in ancient India and Tibet. The view they attained is like the sky, free from conceptual extremes; it is like the sun, clearing away the dark clouds of ignorance; and it is like the moon, emitting cool rays of calm and bliss."
