What was the best revival you ever personally saw.? We have heard great preachers and music. But have we seen people revived? At the first church I served we saw a remarkable revival as the people prayed and God saved people who had been far from him.
In Jeremiah's day, people went to the temple to worship. They talked a lot about having the temple of the Lord. But it didn't affect the way they lived. They had the wrong kind of revival.
The Lord told Jeremiah to tell them so, knowing it would make the priest and the king angry. Jeremiah stood at the front of the temple and told them the truth. Real revival results from repentance and return to the Lord.
To this day, it is possible to come back to church without coming back to the Lord. Charles Simeon reflected on the first Great Awakening in the United States and noticed deep humility and powerful prayer. The revival took hold on the way people lived. In Simeon's words, "Goodness became fashionable."
