SOLVE-CHD Spotlight
Meet our team with a mini Q&A!

Deborah Manandi

Deborah Manandi is a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney, whose research focuses on investigating and finding strategies to reduce the socioeconomic disparity in accessing cardiac rehabilitation. She was recently awarded the Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend and Tuition Fee Offset scholarships.

What is your favourite thing about your role?
I enjoy learning from my supervisors and peers. They have been hands-on with my learning process and continues to support my growth.
What are you working on at the moment?
I am currently working on a scientometric review of cardiac rehabilitation literature. It aims to summarise the publication patterns, trends and visualise its impacts within our field.
Why is this project especially interesting or important to you?
This project allows me to acquire new skills and revisit old interests. I hope this project will help me better understand our field, identify gaps and emerging trends of interests.
Tell us about something fun you’ve done with the SOLVE-CHD team!
Our team has been going on annual retreats. They have been valuable opportunities for me to connect with team members whom I typically have limited interaction with.
What is a recent achievement you’re proud of?
Getting my RTP scholarship - I am grateful for our team’s support and help.
What do you like to do outside of research?
I spend most of my free time with my family and our family dog :)
