Hebrews 12:2
fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
New International Version (NIV)
From time to time someone will ask me, "Is my deceased relative my guardian angel?  Are they showing me which way to go and telling me what to do?"  The popular theology doesn't match up with the scriptural message.  As believers we have the Spirit of God living in us, comforting and counseling.

We also look to Jesus.  He is also the pioneer and perfecter of our faith.  For the joy set before him, he voluntarily died our death, scorning the shame of the cross.  When he had finished he sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  As pioneer, Jesus shows us the way.  As perfecter, Jesus guarantees that we will finish strong.

Once we trust in Jesus to save us, we begin to be conformed to his image.  Like Jesus we endure the sufferings of this life, knowing the joy which is set before us.  Someday we will be absent from the body and present with the Lord.  Today, if we wonder what to do, we look to Jesus, and in the power of the Spirit we walk as he walked and talk as he talked.  He is better than a guardian angel, and he is keeping our loved ones safe in his presence.
 Pray with me:
Father, help us to lift our eyes today and look to Christ.  Thank you for living the life we should have lived and dying the death we should have died.  Show us your way today we pray, in Jesus’ name.  Amen.
I want to invite you to join me in memorizing 52 passages this year from the 2017 set of Fighter Verses.  You can find the Fighter Verses App at the App Store on your phones or via this link  http://fighterverses.com/the-verses/fighter-verses/As we study the Bible this year, let's look at each text and learn what it says about God.
