During a recent U.S. Air Force recruiter training at Walsh University, Staff Sergeants Kurt Kumhall and Jacob Derry highlighted how military careers align with higher education and how Walsh supports veterans transitioning back to civilian life. As a Military Friendly® and Purple Heart designated university, Walsh provides a welcoming environment for service members, with dedicated support from Joshua Ruiz, Coordinator of Veterans Affairs. The impact of this support was evident for Walsh student Matthew Voegele, whose Air Force aspirations were reignited through a chance encounter with a recruiter and encouragement from President Tim Collins. | Read More

An Opportunity to Hear from the Hawthorne Dominican Sisters |
Walsh University is offering a unique opportunity to hear from the Hawthorne Dominican Sisters on Thursday, March 27, at 1:30 p.m. via Zoom. For 125 years, these sisters have dedicated their lives to serving the poor with incurable cancer in New York and Texas. Their mission of compassionate care began at a time when cancer was still believed to be contagious, yet they selflessly stepped forward to help those in need.
Hosted by Professor Sarah Bokovitz’s palliative care course in collaboration with Fr. Albert Trudel O.P., this event is open to the entire Walsh University community. Young women who may be exploring a religious vocation are also encouraged to attend. The Zoom link will be provided upon registration. This is a powerful opportunity to learn about faith, service, and the call to care for the most vulnerable. | Read More (PDF)
