"Collaborative Research: Defining the Role of Skin Microbiomes in Defense against Chytridiomycosis in Frogs with Seasonal Infections"The Rollins-Smith Lab is working on a collaborative study with the University of Florida and the University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras Campus called “Collaborative Research: Defining the Role of Skin Microbiomes in Defense against Chytridiomycosis in Frogs with Seasonal Infections”. The work will focus on microbial skin communities and immune defenses of the direct developing coqui frog (no tadpole stage) that is native to Puerto Rico and accidentally introduced into Hawaii. They were recently awarded a 3-year NSF grant for this project!

Lab Coat Drop Off!With the opening up of the research facilities, the department has a lab coat drop off outside of MCN CC3314. There is a yellow laundry bag that they can be placed in. Labs have to make sure that their lab coats are clearly marked for them to be returned. It takes 3-4 weeks for lab coats to be laundered and returned by the laundry service. Pick up is in MCN C-3314 just inside the door.
