Cloverbud: Fun on the Farm Camp Recap

Submitted by: Summer Intern Makayla Stommel
Last Thursday, we kicked off our first Cloverbud Day Camp of the summer with the theme Fun on the Farm! Youth started the day off with some fun farm questions and their first activity was painting pots that they later planted seeds in. Next, the kids got hands-on in the kitchen by making homemade butter, followed by some egg-citing games like egg collecting and egg toss, where they also learned some fun facts about chickens.

After lunch, youth headed outside and participated in a variety of farm games and activities such as an obstacle course, horseshoe toss, milk bowling, and more! The excitement continued as the kids learned about vegetables through a sorting activity, helping them understand where their food comes from. A highlight of the day was a visit from our special guest, Lynn, who brought along some adorable rabbits and chickens. Youth had the opportunity to learn about different breeds and even got to pet the animals!

A few more activities of the day were paper bag puppets, farm animal yoga, and planting seeds in their pots! Youth finished off the day by working together to build “Mr. Healthy” while learning about different food groups. The grand finale was tasting the butter they made earlier, served with crackers! We’re looking forward to seeing everyone again at our next Cloverbud Day Camp on Wednesday, July 23rd, where we’ll blast off into a day filled with space-themed adventures!
Special Congratulations to Beverly H, our Camper of the Week!

Exciting News

We are excited to announce that the 2025 Fond du Lac County Fair again has a large number of animals registered—a testament to the dedication of our youth exhibitors and the continued growth of our agricultural program.
In response to this exciting growth, we’re pleased to share that Otto’s Meats of Luxemburg will be joining Loehr’s Meats in Campbellsport and Beck’s Meats in Oshkosh as an official meat processor for this year’s fair. Adding a third processor ensures that we will not need to limit the number of animals in our auction, allowing all participants the opportunity to showcase their hard work.
Otto’s Meats has cut sheets available on their website to assist with placing your order. They can be reached at 920-845-2612. All orders/animals processed at Otto’s will be delivered to the fairgrounds approximately three to four weeks after the sale. Customers will be notified at least two weeks prior to the delivery with the specific delivery date and time.
A heartfelt thank you to Beck’s Meats and Loehr’s Meats for your continued support of our growing program. We are excited to welcome Otto’s Meats to the Fond du Lac County Fair family! Let’s make 2025 our best year yet!
