Save the Date - Cloverbud Pumpkin Contest |
Cloverbuds will receive pumpkin seeds from their club leaders to plan for the annual pumpkin contest held in the fall. The contest will be on Saturday, October 10. Pumpkins grown by youth are judged on overall size, smallest, tallest, and other categories. There are also categories where Cloverbuds can decorate pumpkins, including scariest, funniest, most colorful, most unique, and best 4-H theme. In collaboration with Fond du Lac Festivals, we will be hosting a Giant Pumpkin Growing Workshop (see above) which is open to all ages.
If you don’t have room to grow pumpkins, the seeds can be planted in the community gardens located on the corner of Grove Street and Pioneer Rd in Fond du Lac. For more information or to reserve a spot, please call the Extension Office at 920-906-4623.

The premium book is now available on the Fair’s website: http://www.fonddulaccountyfair.com.
A committee of dedicated volunteers spent a significant amount of time and effort reviewing and updating the premium book with the goal of creating excitement and attracting additional youth exhibitors by refreshing and modernizing entry options. This process included adding more current and relevant entry options, while removing entries that have become outdated over time.
As part of the review process, exhibitor premiums were also increased to further support and encourage participation.

What will the future look like and how will YOU shape it?
Imagine it’s the year 2076—America’s 300th birthday. What role do young people play? What does it look like when youth are truly heard, leading, and making change? We want your vision. Using AI, illustrate what you envision youth empowerment will look like 50 years (2076) from now.
Youth empowerment is all about using your voice, building leadership skills, and making a difference; right now and into the future. It’s young people working alongside adults to create positive change in their communities.
Think big. Think bold. Think about the future YOU.
Ask yourself:
|
- What does it look like when someone is truly involved in their community?
-
How can young people take action and be civically engaged?
- What problems are youth solving in 2076?
- How are youth leading, speaking up, and creating change?
|
Contest Awards: Five $50.00 gift card prizes will be disbursed to contest winners.
For contest guidelines and to enter, visit https://go.wisc.edu/2x2za3. Submission deadline is June 5.
