Tri-County Visual Arts Festival
People's Choice Awards

The Tri-County Visual Arts Festival website has artwork uploaded for people to view.  There will be a People's Choice winner from each category. The committee was very pleased that the festival had 89 entries for the first year! To vote for the People’s Choice, please visit the Tri-County Visual Arts Festival website: https://sites.google.com/wisc.edu/tri-county-youth-visual-arts-/home.  Voting is open until 12 pm on March 12. A winner will be selected from each of the submission categories:

TLA February Outing

Teen Leader Association (TLA) members went snowshoeing at Ledge View Nature Center in Chilton on February 21. Pictured are Hannah and Makayla S. TLA is planning on tubing Saturday, March 13, 5-7 pm, weather permitting. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to Tina Engelhardt by March 11! 
Any youth member who has finished 6th grade can join TLA. There isn't a registration or an extra form to fill out. Just simply email Tina Engelhardt about information for the next meeting. TLA is meeting in-person as well as virtually. The group is limited to the number of people who can meet in person, so please be sure to RSVP for the next meeting to save your spot! The next meeting is Monday, March 22 at 7:00 pm in-person at Rolling Meadows Meeting Room and via Zoom.  
Virtual Fitness Club
Registration is now open for this Virtual Fitness Club! Youth in grades 3-6 can participate in this beginner club. Registration is free and open in 4HOnline through the events tab.

Scientists Live!

Foundation Scholarship
Alyssa Frisch received a $2,000 WI 4-H Foundation scholarship in 2020 tostudy mechanical engineering. She was a member of the New Directions 4-H Clubin Columbia County.

2021 Wisconsin 4-H Foundation Scholarship Applications Now Being Accepted

The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation will award more than $15,000 in scholarships to outstanding Wisconsin 4-H members and alumni pursuing higher education in 2021. To be considered for financial support, applications must be received by the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation via email by Monday, March 15, 2021.

To be eligible for Wisconsin 4-H Foundation scholarships, students must have been a Wisconsin 4-H member for at least three years; have a grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, and be enrolled or planning to enroll at a university, college, or technical school during the 2021-2022 academic school year. Scholarship winners from previous years are not eligible to receive a second 4-H Foundation scholarship.

The application is a one-page resume and a one-page cover letter, both of which give the 4-H youth a chance to share their 4-H achievements, as well as their future plans. Applicants are asked to treat this process as if applying for a job.

Cover letters and resumes must be submitted as one PDF document and emailed to scholarships@wis4hfoundation.org. For detailed information about what to include and how to prepare the application documents, 4-H youth can visit www.Wis4HFoundation.org/scholarships.

Volunteers in Preparation Training!

New Adult Volunteers are welcome and essential to the 4-H program! 4-H is proud of being a proactive, youth-serving organization with an excellent reputation for providing a healthy and safe environment for its members. The volunteer orientation process assures the quality of the program.

For any adults in need of a Volunteer In Prep Training (VIP), there are several upcoming virtual training options to fit your schedule! THE next VIP will be Tuesday, March 23 from 6:30-8:30 pm.

This training will be held virtually via Zoom. A minimum of 5 participants will be required for the training to be held. Registration is required three days before the date of the session. If the minimum is not reached, you will be notified two days before the training.

Fond du Lac County Fair Board Annual Meeting

The Fond du Lac County Fair Board would like to invite you to the Annual Meeting. Typically, this meeting is held in late fall following the fair. However, due to these unprecedented times, the Board decided to postpone the meeting for a few months. Please join us via zoom on March 9 at 6:00 pm for a recap of the 2020 Fond du Lac County Fair. Please RSVP to Bridget Schaumberg, if you are able to attend. A zoom link will be sent to those that are able to attend by Monday, March 8.

Conversation Corner: Spring Programming

Join the Conversation! Join us each month for a different Conversation Corner topic! Club and project leaders (youth and adult) from Fond du Lac, Ozaukee, and Washington Counties are invited to join these one-hour (optional) Zooms. These conversations are an opportunity for leaders to ask the Educators questions, brainstorm with other leaders, and share ideas!

We will cover what the new guidance is for April 1-June 1 for programming. We highly encourage project leaders and general leaders to attend! Zoom information will be sent a few days before the session. A minimum of 5 participants is required to hold the session. If the minimum number is not reached, participants will be contacted prior to the session.

Round 2 of the Wisconsin Livestock Lessons will include many ways for youth to show their work and interests.

Submissions are due by March 19. The top entries in each division will receive monetary awards and may be featured on Wisconsin Youth Livestock Program social media, YouTube channels, and other media outlets.
