Lenten Blessings
As you enter into this season of Lent, may you be mindful of God’s great love for you. “God is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, rich in kindness, and relenting in punishment.” JL: 2:13. Lent is a season that calls us to repent, to turn back to the Lord. It begs us to slow down, take a look at our relationship with God, and invite God into our lives in a new way, a more intentional way. Why? Because God loves us and wants us to receive this love in an abundant way. When we reflect on our lives and our relationship with God in the light of God’s love, we may see areas that we’ve blocked from receiving God’s love. God wants to free us from that blockage so that we are freer to love God, ourselves and our neighbor.
There are many Lenten offerings, reflection books, podcasts, video series, missions at our churches, and online resources that may be very thought provoking. If you haven’t taken stock yet of where God is calling you to reflect this Lent, take some time to ask God to reveal to you how God wants to be present to you this Lent, which area of your life God wants to free, or how God wants to heal you. Then listen and pay attention. God will guide you to new life.
Blessings,
Kathy

3 Day Silent Directed Retreats |
Spots are still available for our directed retreat this Spring and Summer: Thursday through Sundays March 21-24, May 2-5, and Sunday through Wednesday July 14-17. A directed retreat is one in which the retreatant meets daily with a spiritual director who offers prayer suggestions. There is also opportunity for mass & confession. Most of the day is spent in prayer and reflection allowing time to pray in the chapel, our outdoor prayer spaces and to rest in God’s presence.

Thank You Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity |
We are grateful to the Creighton University Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity for coming to the Retreat Center and volunteering their time on a Saturday. They divided into about 6 teams and completed so much good work for us: repainted our donated benches spread throughout the center, dug up our stepping stones in our rosary garden and reset them, moved old books out of the library and catalog system, painted our sign pointing people into the center, cleaned up our trails, and picked up trimmed branches under our major pine tree. What diligent workers. And thanks to the CURC staff for coming in on a Saturday to lead these crews!
