Help Hawaii's Wildfire Victims

We are heartbroken as we watch the Maui wildfires devastating communities across the island. The fires have killed dozens and wiped out the historic town of Lahaina. Not only is support needed in Maui, but people are fleeing to Honolulu, where Jewish communal organizations will be working to support those in need. Your gift to Federation’s Hawaii Wildfire Relief Fund will reach them directly as they rebuild and recover.

Active Threat Security Training for the Community

Join Federation for one of two opportunities to learn how to manage active security threats, featuring our community's Interim Regional Security Advisor, Eddy Azcarate, with an introduction by Federation CEO, Gil Preuss. This important webinar will enhance your situational awareness, empower you to help during a medical emergency, and leave you feeling more confident about your options in the event of an active security threat.

US Theatrical Premiere: GOLDA

Tickets are still available for special pre-screenings of GOLDA, directed by Oscar-winning Israeli Filmmaker, Guy Nativ, and starring Helen Mirren as Golda Meir and Liev Schreiber as Henry Kissinger. The film focuses on the 1973 Yom Kippur War and its fallout. This special event, held two days before its nationwide release, will feature an exclusive pre-recorded Q&A with Helen Mirren and director Guy Nattiv. Check your local movie theater in DC, MD and Northern Virginia for showtimes.

Federation, our Jewish Community Foundation, and our partners, the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), Anti-Defamation League (ADL), American Jewish Committee (AJC), and Secure Community Network (SCN), are working to combat hatred and continue to secure our community for the long-term. In March 2023, Federation’s Board approved an initial $2 million in funding to combat antisemitism over the next three years: an important step in a large-scale initiative.
