Hello Parents and Guardians,
I hope this email finds you well and that you are staying cool during this heatwave. Although it was hot, the first week of ESY was a success.
In light of guidance from the Health Department, wearing masks will be optional both indoors and outdoors, while at school, for all students and staff (regardless of vaccination status) beginning Monday, July 12, 2021.
Please note the following exception that was made available to us through clarification from The PA Department of Education. School buses are considered public transportation and the CDC still requires face coverings on public transportation regardless of vaccination status. Please provide your child with a mask that can be worn to and from school.
Of course, if you prefer to have your child continue to wear a mask throughout the day we will support this position.
This guidance is subject to revision throughout the summer and for the 2021-2022 school year. We will continue to social distance to the extent possible and follow all other aspects of our health and safety plan.
Anyone who tests positive or who has a positive individual in the household is still asked to contact our COVID case managers at casemanagers@vfes.net.
Thank you and have a nice weekend.
Sincerely,
Lisa Wood
