Hearts in Action: Volunteers Making a Difference
We recently celebrated National Volunteer Week, which is the perfect opportunity to thank our dedicated volunteers for their service to our residents and communities. Volunteers are integral to the happiness and well-being of our elders and we could not provide the variety of meaningful activities and programs we do without them.
Below are three of our volunteers who recently shared what inspires them to serve at A.G. Rhodes, and you can click here to read the entire blog post.
Serving Across Generations
At an age when most teens have full and hectic schedules between school and extracurricular activities, Oliver Chen dedicates several hours each week to serving others. A 16-year-old junior at The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, Oliver began volunteering at A.G. Rhodes Cobb last summer and since then, he’s become a reliable Sunday afternoon presence. Read More.
A Decade of Gospel and Service
In 2015 when Dr. Nathan Grigsby, the longtime director of Agnes Scott’s Joyful Noise Gospel Choir, went to A.G. Rhodes Atlanta to see his mother-in-law who was in rehab recovering from an injury, it opened the door to a decade of shared joy, music, and ministry. Read More.
Building Community Through Music
For Emory University senior Russell Wohl, music isn’t just a hobby—it’s a way to connect with and serve elders at A.G. Rhodes Wesley Woods.

Team Updates & Accolades
We're delighted to welcome new team members to A.G. Rhodes! See our latest staff updates. And here's what a family member has to say about A.G. Rhodes:

"I absolutely needed to pause and drop you a note to tell you how grateful I am for the Horticultural Therapy and classes. I was lucky enough to join my mom…for the class…and it was so much fun!
Horticultural Therapy is the #1 reason we wanted mom to be with A.G. Rhodes. For us as a family, we know that if an organization found the value in unique therapies, they would find value in the quality of life for my mom while in their care.
My mother has always loved plants, but this class gives her so much more than just a finished pot. I see some ‘life’ back in her, she shares the stories from class…she uses her hands…she builds a community within A.G. Rhodes that is based around an activity, not an ailment, and she has something to look forward to which is priceless. She takes great pride in ‘recruiting’ her friends to join. The class also provides my mom and I some special time together creating new memories and that helps anchor my mom to the present and to me. I get the privilege of participating in her world and it is such a gift! I am so, so grateful!!"
