Kopchick Hall: Where Scientists Meet

Opening in 2023, this new science complex is designed to bring improved collaboration, communication, and visibility to student and faculty work.
ACHIEVEMENTS
The Center for Teaching Excellence has announced recipients of the Teaching Circle Mini-Grant Award for 2020–21. This year’s awards will further efforts ranging from anti-racist theater to the advancement of female faculty members.
At the 2020 Pennsylvania Association of Colleges and Teacher Educators conference, faculty members Mariha Shields and Annah Hill and doctoral candidate Holly Rougeaux spoke on the active-learning classroom, or makerspace, in Stouffer Hall in which students create assistive technology devices through 3D printing.
At the 2020 Women in Business and the Professions World Awards, Brittany Scott ’11 was recognized as Outstanding Female Professional of the Year Silver Winner in the Sales/Business Development category. She is a vice president at Florida software company KnowBe4 and founder of a nonprofit STEM group for girls.
Sarah Haldeman is the IUP Punxsutawney Person of Purpose for September-October 2020. Based on faculty nominations, the award recognizes academic excellence, strong work ethic, and classroom participation.
