Dismantle stereotypes with St. Paul Public Libraries
Dear Friend,
We're delighted to partner with St. Paul Public Libraries for a screening of Intelligent Lives on Wednesday, October 2 at the Highland Park Library. Save the Date!
Actor Chris Cooper (narrator of Intelligent Lives film) with his wife and their son, Jesse.
Join us for Intelligent Lives, a film documentary featuring three young adults with intellectual disabilities- Micah, Naieer, and Naomie- who challenge perceptions of intelligence as they navigate high school, college, and the workforce.
From award winning filmmaker Dan Habib, this film is a catalyst to transform the label of intellectual disability from a life sentence of isolation into a life of possibility for the most systematically segregated people in America.
Upstream Arts will lead a post-show discussion with a panel of community members, using an arts-based approach to facilitate the conversation.
The film is free, but registration is required.
With abundant thanks for all that you do,
Julie, Matt, Bree, and everyone at Upstream Arts
