Col. (Ret.) Dan Steele '79

The U.S. Air Force Academy Association & Foundation has recently learned of the death of Col. (Ret.) Dan Steele, CS-25, Class of 1979. Col. Steele passed away on May 30, 2026, in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.. on June 15, 2026, at Peters Township Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, Pennsylvania.

A Celebration of Life will be held at noon, on June 16, 2026, at Peters Township Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, Pennsylvania. A Committal Service with military honors will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Rd., Bridgeville, Pennsylvania.

His family has suggested memorial donations be made in lieu of flowers to the ALS Association.
