| Jennie C. Jones at the Met
On Monday, artist Jennie C. Jones made the front page of the Arts section in the New York Times, profiled in a story about her “suite of elegant, angular sculptural works” for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Roof Garden commission.
Jones, whose work is the subject of Jennie C. Jones, has “claimed her space in Minimalism while defying its accepted narratives,” notes the piece. Her installation at the Met, now on view, features sculptural forms that “draw equally on the abstractionist canon and on Black artistic breakthroughs that this canon has typically ignored or excluded.”
