Welcome to Johns Hopkins University, families of the great Class of 2028! We can't wait to see you and your students here on the Homewood campus later this August, and we are hard at work preparing for your arrival.
In the meantime, there is lots for you and your student to learn about life at Hopkins! Throughout the summer, students and families will receive regular newsletters and email reminders from the Student Transitions and Family Engagement team, which includes New Student Orientation, First-Year Experience, and Family Engagement.

Summer Orientation: Hop On Board Webinar Series |
The Hop on Board webinar series is designed to introduce our newest Blue Jays to some of the many resources available on campus and give participants an opportunity to ask questions. All students and families are invited to participate in any or all the webinars. Registration is required and the links can be found on the website. Webinars are recorded and posted to the site a few days after the completion of the webinar.

The Blue Jay Family Connection: A New Way to Stay Involved With Your Student and JHU |
We are thrilled to announce the launch of brand new communications hub for our families: The Blue Jay Family Connection!
At Johns Hopkins, we understand the importance of family engagement in supporting our students' academic and personal journey. That's why we're excited to introduce this new interactive platform, dedicated to staying connected with all things Hopkins.
With the Blue Jay Family Connection you will have the ability to customize your experience. Whether you’re interested in academic resources for your student, campus events, or important deadlines, you can curate your preferences to receive information that matters most to you and your family.
Beginning in September, we will use this tool exclusively to share communications from Family Engagement. Please sign up so you don't miss important information.

Move-In Information: Fall 2024 |
Move-In for our first-year students is August 18. Here are a few key details to keep in mind:

Students will choose a key pick-up appointment time to collect their keys, then unload their belongings at their residence hall during their designated time.

Students will then have until 6 p.m. to unpack and get settled. At 6 p.m., students begin their mandatory New Student Orientation and families are invited to a Leadership Panel followed by a "Pies After the Goodbyes" event.

More specific details will be forthcoming to our students and families. This Move-In date is firm; early Move-In is not available.

Students confirmed in a Pre-Orientation program will move in on August 14 to their assigned residence hall for the academic year.

Students will pick up their room keys between 9 a.m.–12 p.m. (there are no appointment times) and will have until 4 p.m. to unpack and get settled. At 4 p.m. there are Pre-O meetings for the students and an opening meeting for families, followed by dinner.

Athlete Move-In dates vary by sport, so students should confirm dates and procedures with their coach.
