Psalm 139:6-8
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
    too lofty for me to attain.
Where can I go from your Spirit?
    Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
    if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
New International Version (NIV)
               On October 12, 1969 right after men first walked on the moon, the Brooks family boarded a plane to Germany.  We crossed the Atlantic Ocean as I slept and I woke up in a new world.  We moved into a town where everybody spoke a different language.  The following Sunday my mom took me and my brothers to Faith Baptist Church.  There I discovered that the same God who was in America was also in Europe and I became a follower of Christ.
                Our God is finally inescapable.  David had run for his life from Saul, now he ran for his life to God.   If he went up to the sky God would be there.  Even on the bottom of the ocean, God would be there.  In this song, David reminds us that God is omnipresent.
                This means, of course, that we can never talk about God behind his back.  Jonah found out the hard way, that he could run but could not hide from God.  When God saved his life, he wondered why he had run.  Are you running from God today?  Do you ever doubt he is near?  He is as close as a prayer.  Open your eyes and he is there.
Pray with me:
Father, thank you for finding a way to find us.  We flee you, but you always find us.  So when you find us today, we pray that you find us in the center of your will, surrounded by your love.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
I want to invite you to join me in memorizing 52 passages this year from the 2017 set of Fighter Verses.  You can find the Fighter Verses App at the App Store on your phones or via this link  http://fighterverses.com/the-verses/fighter-verses/As we study the Bible this year, let's look at each text and learn what it says about God.
Joyfully,
