Fair Entry and Judging Information

Families can pick up their entry tags starting Monday, June 24 at the fair office. Please check over your entry tags. All edits are due to the office by, Friday, June 28. Pre-fair judging Thursday, July 11, and Tuesday, July 16, 1-7 pm. To sign up for judging time slots, please call the fair office starting Monday, June 24.

Fond du Lac County Fair Little Britches General Rules
This show will allow young kids and future exhibitors to show animals in the show ring during the County Fair. It will allow these young kids a chance to get a taste for the competition of the show and hopefully encourage them to participate with their own animals when they get older.
When: Sunday at 10 am
Sign-up: Sunday 8:00 - 9:00 am  in Cow Palace
Judge: Champion Showman of each species

Participant Rules

  1.  Must be a child 5 years of age by the 1st day of the fair.
  2. Little Britches: Will show a spring calf on site or bring an animal in Sunday morning. If the animal is brought on Sunday morning, the animal must be checked in with the superintendent, provide health papers with the Fair Office, and be vet checked. There will be no housing provided for these animals. The animal is to be born no earlier than March 1st.
    Little Beefers: Will show a beef or dairy beef that will be brought in on Sunday. The animal must be a beef or dairy beef born no earlier than March 1st. The animal must be checked in with the superintendent, provide health papers with the Fair Office, and be vet checked There will be no housing provided for these animals.
    Little Squealers: Will show an animal on site.
    Little Lamb Chops: Will show an animal on site.
    Little Kids: Will show an animal on site.
  3. Livestock Premise ID and ear tags/leg bands for identification purposes will be required as per WI State rules. (The mentor will be able to supply this information for you.)
  4. Must abide by all current Health Requirements.
  5. Parent/guardians must complete and sign a waiver form and attach it to the entry form on the day of the show.
  6. The parent/guardian must be present at both the time of mentoring and show time.
  7. The judge will have a microphone and will ask the child questions regarding the animal. Questions that may be asked could be: breed, age, name of animal, what it eats, how it is taken care of, who owns it, etc.

Junior/Senior Mentor Rules:

  1. The Little Britches Mentor must be one of the following: a current Fond du Lac County Fair exhibitor, a former Fond du Lac County Fair exhibitor, or an adult familiar with the animal in one the species classes.
  2. At all times, the Mentor is to keep safety in mind and NEVER leave the Little Britches participant alone or unsupervised with the animal.
  3. Animals must be healthy, clean, and ready for exhibition like any other Fair project animal.

Proceeds from the Adult Leader Food Stand support annual countywide 4-H Programs such as Family Learning Day, trips, and scholarship opportunities.

4-H Associate Educator

The Fond du Lac Extension Office is seeking a 4-H Associate Educator to be part of the team. 4-H Jibbitz from the 4-H Movement 

We are introducing the 4-H Jibbitz program! Youth can earn 4-H Jibbitz (charms) for Crocs or for a bracelet if they don't have Crocs. These can be earned by participating in various activities and events. Several youth earned the discovering new skills charm by attending Foodie camp this past week! Collect them all!
