Officer Training - Saturday, Dec 2

All 4-H club officers elected for the 2023-2024 4-H year are invited and encouraged to participate in the annual club officer training. It will be held on Saturday, December 2. Check-in will be from 9:30-10:00. Workshop is scheduled 10 am - 12 pm at Extension Fond du Lac County. A free pizza lunch will follow the workshop!

Participants will learn the responsibilities of their officer positions, so all officers should attend. Officers will also meet other 4-H members from throughout the county, and this will give them a chance to exchange ideas and build new relationships. Youth do not have to be incoming club officers to attend the training. Spread the word and invite your friends!  All participants must RSVP by Monday, November 27. If we don’t have a minimum of 20 youth signed up, we will cancel the event.

Winter Leadership Camp

Youth grades 7 and above come participate in Winter Leadership Camp! A weekend full of leadership development and fun! From team building and making new friends to winter recreation and campfire, there will be something for everyone!  Youth will participate in hands-on, interactive sessions to gain a better understanding of what it means to be a leader and how to apply being a youth leader in their club, county, and school.
Adult leader volunteers are needed as chaperones to support youth in learning leadership skills and experiencing the great outdoors.
More information will be coming soon!

Cooking with Meat Project Box

Calumet County 4-H and the Distance Learning Team bring you the opportunity to participate in the Cooking with Meat Project Box. By participating in this distance learning project, youth will learn the following:
-The safe way to cook, store, freeze, and thaw meat of the different project species.
-How to find the correct internal temperature of the cuts of meat.
-Try different recipes, helping them learn different ways to flavor and cook meat.

There will be a Zoom meeting hosted by Bernie O’Rourke, Extension Livestock Specialist, to lead youth through a cooking lesson, using the information in the Cooking with Meat box.
Boxes will be picked up from your local county extension office. Please register as a family. Registration closes on December 15th. You can use this link to register: https://uwmadison.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6EhBdFnA5Os81Ey?fbclid=IwAR0PG_lcRilq_HJDl1KkEX6uICn5aFxN7PMYU--k62wLq4SO41eC-bvzyEc

Youth Thriving Survey

4-H Thriving Survey --Check your email inbox (the one you use with 4H Online) for your link to participate in the Wisconsin 4-H Thriving Survey!  Youth ages 13-18 will receive a link to share your input about your 4-H experiences.
The results will help us evaluate and communicate how 4-H helps young people to learn new things, develop leadership skills, manage goals, set high personal standards, create positive academic attitudes, and other skills that lead to long-term success in life.
The survey was sent to all Wisconsin 4-H members by e-mail in the first week of November and reminders have been sent as well. The survey link will be open until December 1.  Youth who complete the survey will be entered into a raffle to win a $25 gift card. Fill out the survey to help Wisconsin achieve a 30% response rate.
