Run For the Trees 2025 Registration is open

A nonprofit raising funds to enhance and preserve special places and experiences in Oregon’s parks and forests.

Dear Friends,

Mark your calendars, for the second year, Oregon Parks Forever has joined with Bob Ross Inc. - yes, that Bob Ross! - to bring the Happy Little Trees 5K to Oregon. Inspired by one of Ross' famous phrases "happy little trees" while painting natural landscapes on his iconic show, "The Joy of Painting."

Happy Little Trees 5K is a virtual event held in April between Earth Day and Arbor Day. This year will be April 19-27th. Participation is open to all ages and abilities, and you can run, walk, bicycle, skate or use a mobility device in any favorite outdoor setting of your choosing.

Registration is just $36 and includes a "Happy Little Swag" bundle:
Keepsake "Happy Little T-shirt,"
Commemorative racing bib,
Finisher's medal,
Plant 10 trees in Oregon!

All Oregon race proceeds will support tree planting and forest protection efforts in Oregon parks. 10 trees will be planted in Oregon for each registration.

Registration is now open for the 2025 Run for the Trees /Happy Little (Virtual) 5K. Each registration plants 10 trees, so gather your friends and family and make it a team event. Registration will close on April 1.

2024 Fun Runners "Bayha Group"

Did you know that Oregon Parks Forever, helped Marion County replant their forests by raising funds for more than 800,000 trees? We also volunteered people, time, and effort to help restore Minto Park. (so you will have a beautiful forest for your 5K in years to come.) The long-term goal for Marion County Parks is to redevelop in a way that anticipates how the public will enjoy in the future, while also building a climate and environmentally resilient park that future generations can enjoy. Parks has been presented with a once-in-a-generation opportunity to start fresh and forge a new vision for recreation in the Santiam Canyon. This vision will provide diverse recreational opportunities and create a sustainable parks program that benefits the region and visitors.
