When it comes to live music, Brevard’s Mountain Song Festival has long been one of the southeast’s best music festivals. Curated by local superstars, the Steep Canyon Rangers, the festival brings some of the best bluegrass, Americana, roots, folk, rock and roll, and more to the stage at Brevard Music Center at this unmissable event. This year’s stellar line-up includes Sam Bush, AJ Lee & Blues Summit, Big Richard, Larry & Joe, Shannon Whitworth & Woody Platt, the Steep Canyon Rangers, and more.

Whether you’re in it for the livestock competitions, the thrills of the midway, or the (also thrilling) carnival food options, the Mountain State Fair offers a whole world of excitement for its two week run at the WNC Agricultural Center. See prize-winning animals, take a spin on the Ferris Wheel, and maybe try out a fried pickle or two (they’re delicious).

Art is in the Air: 3rd Annual En Plein Air Festival

Downtown Brevard

Saturday, September 16

10am-5pm

For its third year, this multi-faceted, interactive art event presented by Lucy Clark Gallery and Studio combines some of the regions best artists working in Plein Air, a Wet Paint Art Show and Sale, an artisan market, food vendors, and a lot of talented creators making the most of the beautiful weather in downtown Brevard.
