Shine On, Dragons! (click video)
WE DID IT, Dragons! All of us! Now, more than ever, it is a great time to be a Dragon. Our School is known for our sense of community and support of each other. We couldn't be more proud of our students, faculty, and families for their resilience, enthusiasm, and can-do spirit as our learning community launched remotely.
Our mission for remote learning is to deliver a program that is in the best interest of our students. St. Michael’s teachers will strive to engage students in a remote learning environment that reflects our commitment to academic excellence and creates a place where we find new ways of connecting and creating with our students and families. As we move forward, we will adapt, modify, and enhance our curriculum, instruction plans, and expectations as we gauge input and feedback from our faculty and families. St. Michael's believes that our students deserve nothing less. Onward!

Middle School Remote Learning Updated Schedule
Below please find the Middle School updated online learning schedule going forward. Each core class will now meet 3 times per week. We will review again in the weeks ahead and adjust as needed. Again, these online learning meeting times also feed directly to each Middle School student’s Google Calendar in Google Classroom for easy tracking.
Note: We have also broken it out the schedules BY GRADE below for easy printing. :)

8th Grade High School Information Needed ASAP
We are cheering for all of our 8th graders as they make their final decisions on where to continue their academic pursuits in high school.
Parents of the Class of 2020, in order to send final transcripts to chosen high schools, as well as for historic tracking purposes, we ask that you email Erbie Godwin ASAP with a list of the high schools to which your child applied. Please put Accepted, Waitlisted, or Denied next to each entry. Thank you!

DragonLOVE
The response of the St. Michael's community to the current situation has been remarkable. Take a moment to thank a teacher for supporting you, a Dragon friend for being there, or a colleague who listened and helped. St M has launched a PADLET page to capture these sentiments.
To post on Padlet, open the link, click on the pink circle with the plus sign in the bottom right of the screen to open up a note box, and type a message. Then, click your mouse and it will post (with administrator approval).

In Case of Illness
If your child is ill and unable to participate in Remote Learning activities, please send an email to your child’s teacher (Lower School) or advisor (Middle School.)
If your child and/or an immediate family member is ill with COVID-19, we ask that you confidentially inform Merrill Geier (Lower School) or Jessica Stargell (Middle School).

FAQ
In the coming weeks, we will do our best to answer frequent questions we are receiving.
When Can We Retrieve Our Belongings From School?
- Thankfully, we had the foresight to instruct students to bring home important school items before spring break. We do know that some personal belongings are still in student lockers and cubbies. As the virus continues to escalate, it is not prudent to offer families the opportunity en masse to retrieve items at this time. Rest assured, items are safe until we can safely re-open entry to the School. We have also checked for food/lunchboxes left behind to ensure we do not have any science experiments in the making. If there is an important item you need, please contact Mike Jackson.
What Happens Now Regarding School Events, Sports, and Activities?
- Unfortunately, to ensure the safety of our entire community, St. Michael's is canceling all events, performances, and sports while the Campus is closed. This includes, Dads' Night Out on April 2 and, unfortunately, Grandparents' Day on April 17. We have been informed by the Richmond Ballet that the 4th grade Minds in Motion final performances are sadly also canceled.
We are in active conversations about Magic Dragon Day and Graduation and ways to adapt these and other St M traditions to this new reality. Stay tuned.
- In the coming week, we will be refunding families for spring sports and after-school enrichment class fees. For enrichment classes that launched before spring break, refunds will be pro-rated. A specific communication regarding all Extended Programs is forthcoming.
