Act on Climate Rally and Hearing

Thursday, February 28, 3:00 pm
Rhode Island State House (Smith Street side)

Dear Supporter,
Please join the Environment Council of Rhode Island at a rally and press conference to urge the General Assembly and the state government to take action on climate change.
Wear blue and bring your bicycle if you can!
Three ways your legislator can Act on Climate:
  1. Support the Global Warming Solutions Act (GWSA - H5444) to create mandatory greenhouse gas reduction goals
  2. Support the ‘Ask First’ Straw Bill (H5314 and S202) to reduce plastic waste
  3. Celebrate the initial decision by RIDOT to rescind the proposed cuts to bike and pedestrian projects in the State Transportation Improvement Program. Urge the state to comprehensively address greenhouse gas emissions from transportation.
After the rally, you can Act on Climate too. Join us at the House Environment Committee hearing to support the Global Warming Solutions Act (H5444) and the Ask First Straw Bill (H5314) in the House Lounge at the Rise of the House (when session ends, after 4:30pm).
See you there!
Meg Kerr
Senior Director of Policy
