Thank You, Volunteers!
It's National Volunteer Week and the perfect opportunity to thank our dedicated volunteers for their service to our residents and communities. Volunteers are integral to the happiness and well-being of our elders and we could not provide the variety of meaningful activities and programs we do without them.
Click here to read a few spotlights of volunteers and volunteer groups who recently shared what inspires them to serve at A.G. Rhodes.
We love our volunteers all the time but we especially love them this week!
BECOME A VOLUNTEER: You might be surprised at all the fun and important ways our volunteers impact our communities, and we're always open to new ideas based on a volunteer's interest! Visit www.agrhodes.org/volunteer for more information and to fill out a volunteer application.
Another Dream Fulfilled!
Earlier this year, A.G. Rhodes partnered with the Georgia Health Care Association and Second Wind Dreams to make A.G. Rhodes Wesley Woods resident Anne Bowden's dream of cheering on the Atlanta Braves on Opening Day at Truist Park a reality. Ms. Bowden recently enjoyed her big day at the ballpark, and we are thrilled to report that our favorite Braves fan was all smiles as she enjoyed the game, ate pizza and popcorn, sang Take Me Out to the Ballgame, and even got a foul ball!

Employee spotlight: Janeen Cooper, LPN, Unit Manager, A.G. Rhodes Cobb
Growing up, Janeen Cooper and her three siblings watched their mother take care of their grandmother while being a full-time mom and working full-time as a preschool teacher.
“My mother took care of her because she was afraid of the treatment my grandmother would get in a nursing home; this was in the 1970s and 80s.”
The experience had a significant impact on Janeen and shaped the course of her professional career. She wanted to help improve care for people living in nursing homes.

Commemorative Bricks

Purchase a brick and commemorate our Legacy of Care project that includes a new Skilled Nursing and Memory Care building and the transformation of the existing building at A.G. Rhodes Cobb in Marietta. Bricks will be placed along the path in the therapy garden and can be for yourself, your family, to honor a loved one, or to make a memoriam. Bricks will be installed on an ongoing basis. The first round of bricks is being installed this week!

"The best thing about this community is the people who love and support you and your family members during the most difficult stage of life. I am so thankful my grandmother was here at the end of her life for all of the caring and sweet people she met and also who helped my mom at this very difficult time." ~ Isabel A.
