Pediatric Ophthalmology |

“I feel that I was meant to care for children,” says Dr. Megan Busse. “I greatly enjoy the vibe at a pediatric practice. I also make kids’ eye exams a personal challenge—how many eye exams can I do without the child crying? About 70% of what I do is funny entertainment in order to distract the patient and get some cooperation!” Read more.

HIV Prevention Research Study |
A request from Dr. Brett Cooper, adolescent medicine at UTSW who is the co-investigating this research project:
|
| |
|
This study is an opportunity to help improve treatments for HIV prevention. We are looking for physicians to participate in a research study which involves a brief survey and interview that will be done virtually that will take 45 minutes to one hour.
The purpose of this study is to understand physicians’ perspectives on long-acting PrEP to prevent HIV. We will also ask that after the physician part of the study is complete that physicians refer a small number of interested patients to them to do a similar survey and interview. We are specifically looking to talk with male patients in your practice who have had male partners. We will not ask for contact or protected health information about any patients from physicians. We will just ask physicians to let their patients know about the study and have them contact us directly if they are interested.
Compensation will be provided to physicians and patients. If you are interested in participating or have any questions, please contact the study team at iprepproject@uky.edu.
