How do you tell time?
How do you tell time?

2 Corinthians 6:1-2
As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain.  For he says,
“In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.”   I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.
New International Version (NIV)
How do you tell time?  I used to wear a watch.  Now I look at my phone.  Years ago I read about a man who put a simple word across the screen of his watch:  “Now.”  He explained, “That way I always know what time it is.  It is always now.”
The Apostle Paul knew the urgency of time.  God made Jesus who knew no sin to become sin for us so that we might become right with God.  In grace God offers us favor and salvation today.  It is never too late to follow Christ as long as we are alive.  It is also never too early.  Now is the time!
Pray with me:
Father, we thank you for the sacrament of this present moment.  Help us not to waste time, so that we do not damage eternity.  Help us today to redeem the time and to number our days so that we may gain wisdom.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
