Supporting hurricane victims

Recent hurricanes have left communities devastated and tens of thousands of families displaced. Federation immediately opened our Hurricane Relief Fund to urgently raise resources to support these victims in their darkest hours. Your generous contributions will be donated to the Asheville JCC in North Carolina and NECHAMA — organizations serving Jewish and broader communities in need.

ICYMI: Marking October 7^th at home and in Israel

While 6,000 of us came together in person and online to mark October 7^th, our community was also represented in Israel at an official commemoration event in Tel Aviv. Karen Katzman, head of Federation’s Israel office, attended the invitation-only gathering on behalf of our community. Whether we are standing together at The Anthem or in Tel Aviv — Am Yisrael Chai — the nation of Israel lives!

Federation welcomes Israeli college students

We were deeply inspired by a visit from Israeli college students who joined our community to discuss their personal experiences on October 7^th and since. Four students from Sapir College — Israel’s largest public university, located two miles from the Gaza border — shared perspectives about what it will take for young people in Israel to recover and spent time in deep dialogue with Jewish students from our local Hillels to better understand the rise of antisemitism on college campuses in the US. This meaningful exchange was made possible by the generous support of donors to Federation’s Israel Emergency Fund.
