Merry Christmas from Hanging Rock
December Email Newsletter 2017

From The Director,

Warm Greetings!
On behalf of the leadership here at Hanging Rock, we want to to wish all of our supporting Churches and those that partner with us a very Merry Christmas and to say thank you for your partnership.
There’s a song that speaks of Christmas as “the most wonderful time of the year”, and I truly believe that, but possibly for different reasons than expressed within the words and tune of the song.
I believe this is “the most wonderful time of the year” because it is the time that we actually focus upon a profound event that happened over 2,000 years ago, as Jesus Christ humbled Himself and came to earth in the form of a baby born of a virgin.
This one life has changed countless millions of lives down through the years and continues to impact people to live in a way that considers the needs of others, and encourages us to reach outside of ourselves.
I would encourage you to not just glance at the life of Christ during this time of year, but actively pursue who He was, and continues to be!
I believe we still serve a wonderful Savior who came to this world for the masses, yet also for you and I. He’s a personal God.
Let’s take on the spirit of Christ this Christmas Season and serve as He would serve, minister as He would minister, but primarily, love as He would love!
Merry Christmas,
Gary Baker - Executive Director

College Retreat: December 20-21, 2017

We are very excited about our first College Retreat with Danny Wright speaking and Purdue Christian Campus House leading worship.
There are a lot of challenges that face a college student these days, they’ll be entering a hostile, non-Christian environment; they’ll be more isolated; they’ll be battling a powerful, invisible enemy; they’ll have the freedom to make both good and bad decisions; they might be placed in a room with a non-believer who’s hostile to the faith; and there might be the temptation to neglect the Word of God and that will result in a famine of the Word.  That’s why our college students need our prayers and support and a place to come for a retreat! Encourage the college students in your life to take part in this retreat!
Just $40.00 if you register before December 13th. $50.00 after the 13th.

#GivingTuesday Update:

We were truly blessed this year to have a matching donation to help with covering winter expenses. Our very generous donor gave us a $15,000 dollar for dollar match opportunity. We are very happy to report that we met the goal and will receive the full match! We are very thankful to our Churches and individuals who helped make this happen. It was great to see campers, summer staff, camp committee and board members participate in this. Thank You!
