| | | 400+ New Ethiopian Olim (Immigrants) Arrive in Israel
Over the past 40 years, Federations have partnered with The Jewish Agency and the government of Israel to bring more than 92,000 Ethiopians home to Israel. Last week, 400+ new immigrants arrived from Ethiopia as part of Operation Zur Israel—a historic moment that reunited families after more than a decade of separation. Enjoy this special message to our North American community from Isaac Herzog, Chairman of the Executive of The Jewish Agency—delivered live from the airport!

Federation, Bender JCC, Edlavitch DCJCC, and Pozez JCCNV
Join community members from around the DMV for a virtual Chanukah candle lightning. Each night will feature different community members leading the Chanukah blessings. Register today. NOTE: Lighting on Friday December 11th will take place at 4:30 PM, before Shabbat, followed by a Shabbat candle lighting.

Chabad of Olney, Chabad Centers of Montgomery County, and The DC Party Box
The Chanukah story comes to life with an epic audio-visual presentation in a COVID-safe manner. From the safety of your cars, drive through the Chanukah story as multiple illustrations, props, and actors bring the 2,500-year-old Chanukah story to life. Register for various time slots.

| | | Be the Light: Helping Others on Chanukah
CJ Pop Ups and Temple Shalom
Dedicate a tzedakah (charity or righteousness) night this Chanukah by donating to the DC Diaper Bank. Then, join Temple Shalom on Zoom for a bake-along with Paula Shoyer! Your family will love making special blue-and-white cookies before lighting the menorah together at 5:30 PM. Pick up an activity kit when you drop off your donation or arrange an alternate option by contacting Temple Shalom. Zoom link, recipe, and the ingredients list will be shared upon registration—but hurry, registration deadline to receive a kit is Thursday, December 10.
