The Huntsville Music Board recently welcomed four new members – Jim Page, Executive Vice President of MartinFed Consulting; Kim Tibbs, a chart-topping artist, entrepreneur and Director of Sales at Hear Technologies; Danny Davis, a musician, custom luthier and owner of Tangled String Studios and Kelvin Wooten, Grammy-award winning producer, songwriter and musician.
The Music Board plays a vital role in nurturing Huntsville's music scene, enhancing its durability and viability through conducting research and offering counsel to the City on policies and endeavors backing the local music sector. Additionally, by collaborating with allied arts entities, the board facilitates music education initiatives across the community.

The Orion Amphitheater was named the Top East Coast Amphitheater on Billboard’s 2024 Top Music Venues list! Music Officer Matt Mandrella believes the honor will be a rising tide that lifts all boats and brings Huntsville to the attention of music lovers around the globe.

Alabama Public Television will broadcast "Still Playin' Possum: Music & Memories of George Jones" on Friday, Feb. 23, at 8:30 p.m. The show was filmed in Huntsville last year during an unforgettable sold-out concert at the Von Braun Center Propst Arena.

Music Education Spotlight |
Big things are happening musically in our schools, and the Music Office is happy to support those efforts. To that end, the Music Office recently allocated $3,000 to Huntsville City Schools High School Band Programs for expenses incurred by participation in City-sponsored and community events.
Elsewhere, Huntsville High sophomore Gray Gaba was selected for the Honors Performance Series, reserved for the highest-rated performers across the world, and performed at Carnegie Hall in NYC. Well done, Gray!
