Time waits for no one
Happy fall! As summer lazily meanders to a close, so too will our registration. You have until midnight on Monday, September 28, to secure your virtual seat in this history-making semester.
On our website's home page, you'll find the instructions and link to register for classes online and the forms to register by mail.
The ILR Fall 2020 Course Catalog wasn't printed or mailed this semester due to the financial implications of the pandemic and the additional time and workload required to move the fall semester online.

You can do this. We can help.

You've been stuck home alone for far too long. Beat the COVID blues, connect with your peers, and join in the learning and fun. All ILR classes will use Cisco Webex conferencing. All you'll need is an internet connection and a computer, tablet, or mobile device. Are you wondering if you can connect from your computer or mobile device? It's easier than you think. Sign up for a free training session below and we'll have you connected and feeling confident in no time.

ILR continues its global reach
Past, present, and new members and instructors can join ILR from anywhere in the world this semester. In the U.S., we've now reached the four "corners" with two instructors from Florida and students from Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Connecticut in the Northeast, Oregon in the Northwest, Texas and Arizona in the Southwest, Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana in the Heartland, and everywhere in between. We even have a student joining us from Italy. Magnifico! Despite the pandemic, the pivot to virtual classes has created new and exciting opportunities for ILR's instructors and students.

Easy as 1, 2, 3

Ready to register for fall semester classes? Your $115 registration fee allows you to choose as many classes as you'd like. You better grab a bigger plate for this buffet!
While virtual, we have two easy ways to register--online or by mail. Online is your quickest option and immediately reserves your seat in a class. Online registration–accessed from the ILR website–takes only minutes and requires no passwords. Once you experience the ease of registering online, you'll understand the appeal. It's the most efficient means of registering, both for you and the ILR office. If registering by mail, if you're unable to print the registration form, simply send us your registration information, courses, and payment.

Company's Coming: Let's WOW Them!
Join the Mount Pleasant foodies to learn how to impress your guests with tasty treats prepared from fresh, familiar ingredients. Menus are suited for four persons.
Chef Michael Kalbaugh got his training at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Atlanta, apprenticed, then worked at the Pinehurst Resort in South Carolina before moving back to Ohio. Among other things, he served a cheeseburger with a Miller Light to President Obama (at midnight). He said the three Secret Service agents watching over him were a little intimidating, but worth it because Obama liked the burger. And it gave him quite a story to boot! Here's a teaser

Participants for Study Needed
Are you eager to have opportunities for engagement during the COVID pandemic? We are currently recruiting research participants for a virtual research study. Our purpose is to improve a preference assessment for older adults through the use of supplemental pictures.  We are seeking adults 65 years or older to offer their opinions on the pictures we have chosen for the preference assessment.
