A Note From Gary:

As we are in our busy retreat season, the need for volunteers has increased. I cannot tell you how overjoyed I am by the amount of volunteers we get here at Hanging Rock. What I am really impressed with are the ministers in our supporting Churches.

We appreciate you so much. We are so blessed to have supporting church ministers who will come and mow grass, work the zip line, help with horses and so much more. We are truly BLESSED. We have really been blessed by Dave Adams. Dave has his camper here and is volunteering his time to help Tom.

I’d like to encourage you to consider getting involved in an area of ministry here at Hanging Rock.

Friends, it’s not always about the feelings and immediate gratification, and as a matter of fact, we may never see the results of our sacrifice until we get to heaven. I’m reminded of the time Jesus knelt before 12 pairs of feet (the Disciples), to wash their feet as an example of what He was calling them to do.

John 13:14-17 – 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16 I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

We have so many ways for you to get involved. Please let us know if you are willing. As we have started remodeling the Chapel there are a lot of ways to get involved in that project. Call us or email us and we will help you jump right in.
Serving Our Savior,
Gary Baker - Executive Director

Chapel Update:

The remodeling of the Chapel has begun and we are so excited to see the transformation. The month of October we should have the plumbing all in and the new conceret poured and walls starting to be framed.

We are still raising money for chairs. So far, we have raised enough for 230 chairs, still needing 70. They cost $27.50 per chair if you would like to help.

We could use some volunteers to help with the remodel of the chapel if you are intersted. Let Tom know at tomlloyd@hangingrock.org.

Summer Camp Schedule 2018

Mark your calendars for Summer Camp 2018. Our summer schedule is set. We have dates listed on our website at www.hangingrock.org. Theme for 2018 is "All Things Possible"

We live in a world today where there are road blocks everywhere you turn and at times simple things seem difficult and impossible.  Kids are growing up in a time where lasting marriages and healthy families seem impossible, overcoming illness seems impossible, healthy friendship: impossible, trust: impossible.  We want to spend the summer teaching kids that all these things they face everyday that seem impossible and steal their innocent hope are all things that are possible with God.  With Him marriages, families and friendship can be healthy, trust can be restored, illnesses can be healed and so much more.  We can take the miracles in the Bible and help them see how true they are today still!  - Kristen Howell.

All Things Possible
Luke 18:27  "Jesus said, 'What is impossible with man is possible with God.'"

Human Foosball:

Trail Life USA Project.
Hello my name is Ben Clausen, I've been working on a project for HRCA for the past month or so. I am building a human foosball set near the chapel. This project is for TLUSA (Trail Life USA). Like an Eagle Scout project for Boy Scouts, I had to choose a project for my Freedom Award from Trail Life USA. As a part of my youth group at New Brunswick Church of Christ, we made a small human foosball set that can accomodate 12 people playing at a time. I was asked by the camp staff if I would be interested in doing something similar for the camp and I decided that would be a great idea for my Freedom Award project.
Trail Life is an outdoor adventure program for boys, who have partnered with the American Heritage Girls. The freedom award that I am striving for is actually higher than the eagle scout rank. I am excited to be doing this project in partnership with the camp and look forward to many campers using it for the next several years.
If you would like to help Ben with this project you can make a donation to Hanging Rock marked Human Foosball.
