Good morning! Clemson faculty and staff are invited to participate in a virtual ChatGPT Edu build-along session today. Push notifications will be turned on in the Workday mobile app later this week; The University recently dedicated the new Forestry and Environmental Conservation building.

What to know today:

Explore practical ways ChatGPT Edu can support everyday work during a virtual training session today or Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. While the examples in the course are tailored towards common tasks for staff, both faculty and staff are welcome to attend to learn more about data analysis, visualization and automation.

This event is part of this month’s AI workshops, which include virtual AI Office Hours, an OTEI workshop on moving from prompt to project, and Clemson Libraries’ AI literacy workshops.

Payslips in Workday now include employee leave balances, accrued leave, and leave used in the specific pay period. This new section on the payslip will include the same information displayed inside Workday’s Time Management Hub.

Later this week, faculty and staff with the Workday app will begin receiving push notifications for tasks requiring their action. Employees can manage these notifications through their mobile device settings.

Clemson University dedicated the new Forestry and Environmental Conservation building last Friday. Positioned at Clemson’s southern entrance at the intersection of Cherry Road and Perimeter Road, the four-story, 85,000-square-foot mass timber facility blends cutting-edge science with elegant, sustainable design.

Offered by the Clemson University School of Health Research, the virtual series features health innovators who provide short talks on their research. The first session starts on Thursday, September 17, from 4-4:30 p.m.
