The local community and Otsego County is currently seeing an increase in COVID cases so, even though our case count on campus is low, it is important to wear your mask indoors, both on and off campus. Ensuring that your mask fully covers your mouth and nose will protect yourself and others.
Also, remember that disposable masks are meant to be single-use, as they cannot be properly cleaned, and reusable masks should be cleaned on a regular basis to be effective. Washing reusable masks regularly can remove any traces of viruses like COVID and the flu, as well as bacteria that may build up from coming into contact with your hands, skin or surfaces. Many reusable fabric masks can be cleaned with your laundry in a washing machine, or simply washed in a sink with soap and water, then rinsed and air-dried.
