National CAPACD Hosts 25th Anniversary Eastern Region Convening in Washington, D.C. |
In celebration of our 25th Anniversary, National CAPACD held our final convening in Washington, D.C., for our coalition members based in the Eastern region. This convening brought together participants representing 18 organizations, where they engaged in meaningful discussions to strategize, share ideas, and build a unified response to the threats our organizations and communities face under the current political climate. Throughout the year, these convenings have provided a space for our coalition members to connect and support one another. Thank you to everyone who attended one of our anniversary convenings and joined us in celebrating 25 years of empowering leaders and mobilizing communities!

2025 #OurNeighborhoods Peer Learning Program Participants Meet in Detroit, MI |
National CAPACD held a convening for the 2025 #OurNeighborhoods Peer Learning cohort in Detroit, MI. For five months, organizers and advocates from 12 community-based organizations met virtually to share challenges and strategies related to the field of anti-displacement work. This in-person convening served as the culminating event for the #OurNeighborhoods program, where participants deepened their connections with one another and discussed the history of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AA and NHPI) organizing against gentrification. Participants also visited the Arab American National Museum in Dearborn, MI, and the James & Grace Lee Boggs Center to learn about Detroit's rich history and ongoing community-building work.
Thank you to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the TD Charitable Foundation for their generous support of the #OurNeighborhoods Peer Learning Program. We would also like to thank Asian Americans United and Beverly-Vermont Community Land Trust for co-facilitating the convening.

Congratulations, 2025 Community in the Capital Fellows! |
National CAPACD’s 2025 Community in the Capital (CITC) Fellows completed their five-month-long policy advocacy fellowship, which culminated with our Advocacy Institute in Washington, D.C. Five of our fellows met with their district’s Congressional office and the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC). During these meetings, fellows discussed topics important to their communities, including immigrant-owned small businesses, community development, economic policy, Fiscal Year 2027 appropriations requests for underserved Pacific Islander communities, and language access. They also participated in tours of the Capitol Building and the Library of Congress. Congratulations to our 2025 CITC Fellows!

National CAPACD Celebrates Community Victories for Economic Justice This Election Day |
The Election Day results on Tuesday—from New York City to Detroit, from Boston to St. Paul, from Virginia to California—underscore the power of collective resistance and community mobilization. At National CAPACD, we believe that communities must have the power to influence the decisions and drive the solutions that impact their lives. This week’s results reaffirm our communities’ ability to exercise power and enact change: when our communities are under attack, they will organize, deepen solidarity, and turn out to vote in defense of their dignity and futures, reshaping what is possible.
