All About Energy ends with a slam
All About Energy ends with a slam
The inaugural summer teen program “All About Energy” engaged 29 Chicago teens in the same challenge as their city: to reduce carbon emissions by 20 percent. Over the course of six weeks, the teens become energy decision makers tasked with developing neighborhood-specific alternative energy plans that will reduce that neighborhood’s carbon emissions. Through the groundbreaking program, a collaboration between After School Matters, Argonne National Laboratory and the Office of Civic Engagement, the teens worked with experts in the fields of solar, wind, nuclear and biomass energy. On Thursday, August 11, they presented their proposed solutions at an "Energy Slam" finale at William Eckhardt Research Center.
