Penn Information Systems & Computing
June 2018 Update
We are excited to introduce Penn’s Identity & Access Management (IAM) program to the University community. Our mission is to implement a modern Identity and Access Management system, which will ensure that the right individuals access the right University electronic resources at all times.

This program will strengthen security, improve collaboration, enable new business opportunities, and simplify the end-user experience.
What’s Next & How You Will Be Involved
Penn’s IAM program will kick off on July 1 with the initiation of two major Identity and Access Management improvement projects:
  • External IAM – A cloud-based IAM system for populations who do not need all the access privileges associated with a PennKey, including Penn’s growing populations of non-traditional learners, research collaborators, business partners, etc.
  • Internal IAM Re-Engineering – A full refresh of Penn’s core IAM infrastructure to modernize the University’s capabilities while improving security, efficiency, and customer experience.
Already underway is the rollout of Two-Step Verification to faculty, staff, and students.
Over the coming months, we are looking to collaborate with client representatives from the Schools and Centers to help us capture the current IAM state and refine our future strategy. Please be on the lookout for a request to participate.
