Spelman College brings homecoming to 104-year-old alumna and A.G. Rhodes resident

From Fox 5 Atlanta: It is a story of sisterhood just in time for homecoming. Annie Moore, a Spelman graduate and A.G. Rhodes Atlanta resident, just turned 104 years old. Her younger Spelman sisters brought Monday's homecoming celebrations to her doorstep.

Infection Control Assistant, A.G. Rhodes Wesley Woods

When Stephanie Waller began a temporary position in Infection Control at A.G. Rhodes Wesley Woods last April, she didn’t anticipate how much she’d enjoy it.

“I love the culture here at A.G. Rhodes. It’s different from any type of place I’ve worked.”

Because of the critical importance of infection prevention and control—particularly after lessons learned from COVID-19—her position as an Infection Control Assistant became permanent.

“It feels good to know that we play a big part in protecting the elders.”

Onsite Dialysis Clinic now at A.G. Rhodes Wesley Woods

Through a partnership with DaVita Kidney Care, A.G. Rhodes has opened an onsite dialysis clinic at A.G. Rhodes Wesley Woods, which follows an onsite clinic that opened at A.G. Rhodes Atlanta in June. Kidney disease affects more than 37 million people in the United States. Given that many people in and around Atlanta live with the disease, having an onsite dialysis clinic will have a tremendous impact on the quality of care and quality of life for current and future residents who stay at A.G. Rhodes.

Breast Cancer Awareness

A.G. Rhodes residents and staff supported Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a stroll around the homes and a walk at the Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk at Lenox Mall.

Workforce Wellness

Recognizing the importance of Care Partners taking care of themselves to best care for others, our employee wellness program, Live Well Wellness & Rewards Program, promotes a culture of wellness that supports healthy lifestyle choices. Last month a group of Care Partners participated in the Kaiser Permanente Run, Walk & Roll 5K, and the A.G. Rhodes communities recently held onsite farmers markets to distribute fruits and vegetables to employees.

SAVE THE DATE: Support Seeds for Seniors on Giving Tuesday

On Tuesday, Nov. 28, people across the nation will help kick off the holiday season and take part in Giving Tuesday, a day of giving and celebrating the spirit of generosity. GAgives is our statewide day of giving that falls on Giving Tuesday, and we will raise money to support A.G. Rhodes' Horticultural Therapy Seeds for Seniors program. This program brings nature and healing to seniors at A.G. Rhodes.
