On behalf of all of us at UChicagoGRAD, we wish newcomers a very warm welcome, and welcome back to those returning. I found Chicago to be a wonderful place to raise kids, and Hyde Park to be a particularly special neighborhood; we hope you will share that experience. With a late start date for UChicago classes, October is when things really get going here. There are so many free and cheap kid activities to explore. For an excellent overview, check out this article in the Hyde Park Herald. And maybe consider getting a subscription—it’s one of the oldest community newspapers in the U.S., and a great way to stay in the know on all the local happenings.
