Easter Monday: Designated School Day

As previously communicated, Easter Monday, April 21, is NOW A DESIGNATED SCHOOL DAY. Extended Day is open.
  • In the Lower School, this will be an "F" Day.
  • Middle School students will follow a special, academically focused schedule. While MS enrichment classes will not be held on Monday, students will still have study hall, break, lunch, and recess built into their day. Daily schedules will be shared with students during morning advisory on April 21.

Dragons and Squirrels Together!

Exciting News! On Wednesday, April 30, our Middle School Choir will be singing the National Anthem at the 6:30 p.m. kickoff of the Richmond Flying Squirrels Baseball Game! First pitch is right after. Let's show our DRAGON PRIDE by wearing school spiritwear/colors, attending the game, and cheering for our amazing St M Choir!
The Squirrels are offering special $10 tickets at the link below. St. Michael's Episcopal School will be gathering in the gold-backed seats in Section 205. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. See you there!

Lower Schoolers, Book It Into Summer!

All Lower School students are invited to participate in the 'Book it into Summer!' reading raffle, for a chance to win fabulous prizes just for reading and tracking their reading time. Students were sent home with a paper copy of the 'Book it into Summer' log on Thursday, and extra copies can be printed HERE, as needed.
Here's all they need to do to earn raffle tickets:
Read for 20 minutes (or more!) outside of regular school hours (during Extended Day is fine). Then:
  • Enter the date and amount of minutes read on the 'Book it into Summer' log sheet
  • Have a parent or other adult initial beside the date and minutes read
  • Return this sheet to Mrs. Bryan-Diehl no later than Wednesday, May 21st
  • Earn 1 raffle ticket for each 20 minutes of reading time completed!
  • The more they read, the more chances they have to win! Raffle winners will be announced during the last week of school, with raffle basket winners for each grade level. Baskets will include summer toys, activities, and treats, and, of course, lots of great books to kick off your summer reading adventure!
  • For any questions, please contact Mrs. Bryan-Diehl.

Middle School Wellness Day

On Wednesday, March 23, the Middle School will participate in its annual Health & Wellness Day. The afternoon includes an exciting array of engaging sessions with guest speakers on topics related to student mental health and wellness, healthy eating, and exercise.
St M is delighted to welcome Dr. Dimal Shah, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Program Director at VCU Health, as the keynote speaker on the topic of anxiety and coping strategies.  A big thank you to Katherine Martin for her leadership in planning this program and to all of our guest speakers for being with us.

Walking Waiver

With warmer weather upon us and spring athletics underway next door at Trinity, a friendly reminder that Middle School students who wish to walk to school OR walk to Trinity to view sports games should have a walking waiver on file.
The form may be found HERE.  Thank you for your support.
