Cloverbud Day Camp: Foodie Fun! |

On Wednesday, June 24, we held our first Cloverbud Day Camp of the summer! The theme was food, and all day long, 19 youth and 4 youth leaders were busy baking, cooking, and participating in fun food-themed activities.
The day began with youth creating their own recipe books and getting to know one another through fun icebreakers. They then learned kitchen basics and important kitchen safety tips before heading into the kitchen. Their first cooking project was making fruit roll-ups while learning how a dehydrator works. Youth also prepared brownie mix in a jar to take home and practiced their measuring skills!
Next, campers got started making their lunch, which included mac and cheese, fruit dip, veggie dip, and scotcheroos. Along the way, they learned how to wash and cut fresh fruits and vegetables properly. After enjoying their homemade meal, youth headed outside for some active food-themed games, including potato races and marshmallow tosses.
In the afternoon, youth participated in a nutrition lesson about MyPlate, where they learned about the different food groups and how various foods help fuel our bodies. They then returned to the kitchen to make granola bars and took part in a building challenge using spaghetti and marshmallows. To finish the day, campers made mug cakes and layered drinks for a special snack.
It was a fun-filled and successful day of learning, cooking, and teamwork. Thank you to everyone who helped make the camp possible! We’re looking forward to seeing everyone again at our next Cloverbud Day Camp on Wednesday, July 22nd, where we will learn about superheroes in our community and discover how each of us can be a superhero too!

Cloverbuds have a special record book to complete. It can include photos, drawings, and written thoughts about what you liked in 4-H over the past year. Parents and older siblings are encouraged to help Cloverbuds get started on their record book. Turn in the Cloverbud Record Book to your club leader on or before the due date. Each club has a different due date, so ask your club leader or family mentor for the details.

There are lots of opportunities to volunteer such as helping clerk and attach ribbons, helping in the food tent by wiping down tables, and serving people their orders. The fair is free to attend as is parking! This a great family event that you can join in to promote 4-H and agriculture!

Community Service Awards
Service to the community is a fundamental principle of 4-H. Up to two youth in grades 5-8 and up to two youth in grades 9-12 will be recognized at the Annual 4-H Achievement Program. Top placing clubs submitting applications will be recognized and have funds donated by the Fond du Lac County 4-H Leader Association in their club’s name, to the agency for which the club did community service. Applications are due to the Extension Office by the Tuesday after Labor Day (September 8).

Apply for the 2026 4-H Key Award
The Key Award is the highest state 4-H award earned by members who have shown consistent growth in their 4-H involvement, developed and applied their leadership skills, and actively participated in their 4-H club and community. Youth in grades 11-13 are eligible to apply. Up to 4 recipients from Fond du Lac County can be selected. To be eligible for an award, you must turn in a completed application by September 15 and interview.

4-H members have numerous educational travel opportunities. To be eligible for funding for an educational experience, you must turn in a completed application by September 15 and interview.

Adult Leaders Meeting, Fair Forum, & Raffle Ticket Drawing - August 19 at 6:30 pm |
All parents, adult leaders, and youth leaders are invited on August 19 for the Adult Leader’s Association Meeting. Before this meeting, at 6:30 pm, there will be an open conversation on county fair ideas. A fair board rep will be present to hear your feedback on the strengths of the fair and suggestions for changes. After the fair suggestions, the Adult Leaders Meeting will follow. Both meetings will take place at the Fond du Lac County Campus in room 205/206. The raffle drawing will also take place during the meeting. This is your opportunity to hear, learn, share, and have input. Mark your calendar for August 19. All clubs are encouraged to have a representative present.

Annual Authorizations for Clubs |
To help simplify the 4-H Club and Group renewal process, the Annual Financial Report previously due in September and the Annual Charter Renewal previously due in November have now been combined into one document that only requires one signature! I hope this streamlined process will make annual reporting easier and more convenient for your 4-H Club or Group.
As part of the annual process for all 4-H Clubs and Groups, the new Annual Authorization must be completed by September 1 in order to continue using the 4-H Name and Emblem.
