The Office of Graduate Education is seeking motivated graduate students (both master’s and Ph.D.) to work as compensated Group Leaders for the GT 6000 (Grad Groups) program from June 2023 through October 2023. 2022 GT6000 group leaders Anamik Jhunjhunwala and Dasha Bukharina each share rewarding ways that serving as a GT6000 group leader has been impactful for enrolled students and themselves.

Taxes 101 for Graduate Students: Deadline Approaching
|
Last month, representatives from the Office of Graduate Education, Global Human Resources, the Bursar's Office, and the Office of Graduate Education teamed up to host a virtual workshop that provided graduate students with valuable information and do's and don'ts of filing taxes. In case you missed it, we compiled some of the takeaways from the session. The workshop recording is currently available online as well. Be sure to check these resources out before to this year's tax deadline, which is Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

Inclusion and Opportunity: Top Priority for Women in OMSCS Tech Seminar
|
When Georgia Tech launched its Online Master of Science in Computer Science (OMSCS) program nearly a decade ago, less than 11% of students enrolled were women. Female representation in the groundbreaking program has nearly doubled since 2014. 225 of the 11,487 OMSCS students enrolled in Fall 2022 were women. To help ensure these women succeed, and to ensure the percentage of women enrolled in the program continues to grow, administrators established the OMSCS Women in Tech seminar.

14 Finalists Announced for Three Minute Thesis Competition
|
You’ve only got three minutes, better make it count!
This year, graduate students will answer the call and present their research in non-technical terms to a non-specialist audience in three minutes. Sounds easy, right? After five preliminary rounds including 75 participants, only 14 graduate students – twelve Ph.D. students, and two Masters' students – will compete in the final round. This year's 3MT competition will be held next week on Thursday, April 6, 2023, in the Atlantic Theater in the Student Center. Read the story to discover who the top 14 finalists are.

Wellness Opportunity: Join the Next City Cycling Class
|
Get comfortable traveling by bike with this instructional group ride! This in-person class is designed specifically for members of the Georgia Tech community - which includes students, staff, and faculty! Join Propel ATL on March 30, 2023, from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. on tech Parkway, behind the Campus Recreation Center. Be prepared to perform a few quick warm-up drills before hitting the city and campus streets for a 45-minute, three to four-mile ride. Participants must provide their own helmet and bicycle to participate.

Lounge on the Lawn is the Grad Only space you have been asking for during SCPC Sting Break on March 30th. The P & D Soros Fellowships for New Americans program is intended for immigrants and children of immigrants attending school in the United States. The fellowship provides full funding for two years of graduate study at any U.S. institution.
